GO WILD in the Woods: Summer holiday dates - fully booked!

We're running six FREE sessions over the summer holidays. All sessions will be run by Julie Lloyd Evans of Learning Without Walls. Spaces are limited so book now: cassandjake@gmail.com


SESSION FULL Thursday July 21st, 10.30-12.00pm: Ideal Home Exhibition - a flexible session where you will work in groups to experiment with a range of different shelters: lean-to, tipi, kennel, tarp shelters and free style OR make an invertebrate hotel to take home. Teddies will be visiting in case we have any mini shelter builders!

SESSION FULL Tuesday July 26th, 10.30–12.00pm: Art through Nature – an exciting morning discovering the range of woodland colours, with a little plant ID followed by creating your own masterpiece through the Japanese art of Hapa zome. Also leaf printing, bark rubbings and mud art.

SESSION FULL Tuesday July 26th, – 1.30-3.00pm: Art through Nature – as we have so much to offer in the morning join us for the afternoon to try out one of the other art through nature activities discovering the range of woodland colours, with a little plant ID followed by creating your own masterpiece through the Japanese art of Hapa zome. Also leaf printing, bark rubbings and mud art.

SESSION FULL Monday August 1st, 10.30-12.00pm: Bugs About a chance to find out what is hiding in the grasses in the bushes and beneath your boots. See these creatures in detail under our microscopes and magnifiers and recreate them from clay and nature materials for our ‘Bug Art Gallery’.

SESSION FULL Monday August 1st, 1.30-3.00pm: How many ways to use a stick? Thinking about sustainability when using natural materials, we will make a journey stick or a sticky bracelet as we wander through the woods. The session will then explore how many ways to use a stick through building, modelling and tool use. Adults may need to get very hands-on for this session!

SESSION FULL Thursday September 1st, 10.30-12.00pm: Natural dyes and paints – step back in time to make your own Stone Age-style paint and experiment with natural dyes. It could get messy and if you missed out on the Hapa zome art that will be available as well.


SESSION FULL NEW! Through popular demand, there will be an additional Natural dyes and paints session in the afternoon of Thursday September 1st, 1.30-3pm.
