Go Wild in the summer holidays!

FREE 'Go Wild' sessions return for the summer holidays! Book your place using the links buttons below.

Wednesday 26th July, 10.30am-12pm: Make a Mini Ecosystem

This exciting activity was an idea from one of our regular 'Go Wilders'. We will explore the layers of the woodland from the floor to canopy before creating a mini world in a glass jar to take home.

Wednesday 26th July, 1.30pm-3pm Herbal Remedies

This session will focus on plant scents and making lavender bags. This will be followed by a little potion mixing to create homemade plant fertiliser to take home.

Tuesday 29th August, 10.30-12pm: Herbal Remedies

This session will focus on plant scents and making lavender bags. This will be followed by a little potion mixing to create homemade plant fertiliser to take home.

Tuesday 29th August 1.30-3pm: Natural Shelters

Building on previous ‘Go Wild’ sessions, this den building activity will use only natural materials that can be found in the woodland. Kennel and tipi shelters will be modelled before participants set about producing natural shelters of their own.

Wednesday 30th August, 10.30am-12pm: 3D Natural Sculptures

Taking inspiration from a number of environmental and land artists, individually or in small groups, participants will construct a 3D sculpture in natural material to leave in the woodland.

Wednesday 30th August, 1.30pm-3pm: Hanging Natural Sculptures

Taking inspiration from a number of environmental and land artists, individually or in small groups, participants will construct a hanging sculpture in natural material. This session will focus on mini natural art features that can be taken home or left in the woods.

Under 8’s need to be accompanied; advisory age: pre-school to 12 years.

If you would like to make a day of it and book onto both morning and afternoon sessions and stay and play in the woods in between, then you are very welcome to do so - we now have a toilet tent in the woods so this may feel more possible than previously. Please note, however, that between 12 and 1.30, there will be no supervision from Learning Without Walls or Greener Padbury Group.

These sessions are funded by Heart of Bucks and the Greener Padbury Group who recognise the importance of connecting with and caring for our natural environment. They are free to book but any donations will help us offer more sessions in the future.
