You are invited to attend a free Spring-time guided walk through Padbury Millennium Woods to listen to and learn to identify the songs and calls of birds in the woods. Blackbird, robin, dunnock, chaffinch, blue-tit, great-tit, wren, song-thrush, chiff-chaff and green woodpecker can all be seen and heard in the woods, and buzzards and red kites are often sighted from there. We've recently heard, for the first time, a greenfinch.
The walks will be led by Robert, who will introduce and identify the calls and songs of birds as they are heard, and will give tips to aid memory and recognition. He will offer insights in to behaviour, habitats, food sources, nests etc, and will be happy to answer questions from participants.
There will be an early morning walk starting at 5.30 am and an evening walk starting at 7.30 pm. Both walks will start at the play area on Main Street.
