Over the past two weekends, a team of volunteers has been busy with spring planting in the woods: 750 bulbs in the green of six types of plant (Bluebells, Daffodils, Snowdrops, Wild garlic (Ramsons), Winter Aconite and Wood Anemone) in at least 45 locations in the woods.
They cleared each planting site of superficial debris, planted bulbs and marked the sites with sticks laid around them, and recorded the locations of all the planting sites using 'what3words'.
It was encouraging to note how well last year's plug plants have taken and, together, this should make a great difference to the woodland floor - and all the biodiversity that stems from it.
Thank you to all you hardy souls!
